You are Fearless & Brave

you-are-fearless-and-brave

You are fearless and brave. Even if you don’t feel that way right now, you have the ability to be fearless and brave in any circumstance. Why? Because Christ is with us, and we can hand our anxiety over to Him. He will take care of us and answer us and sovereignly reign over every situation.

“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7 NASB

The peace of God is a guard. It will guard our hearts and minds if we allow it to. The opposite of fear and anxiety is peace, and God is able to give us that peace that passes understanding. Ask God for it and wait in an open posture to Christ. He will give you that peace.

By the way, fear itself is not a sin. If a bear runs to you to attack you, God created your body to experience fear so that you get away from danger. Paul in the New Testament was “anxious for the churches,” and it wasn’t a sin because the reason he was concerned was because of his love for them and for their well-being and spiritual growth (2 Corinthians 11:28). But Paul took his anxiety to God so that He could receive peace—because God is in control of all things.

brave

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10

We do not have to be afraid because God is with us.

You do not have to fear what other people think of you either, since “fear of man brings a snare.” (Proverbs 29:25) Do whatever God is asking you to do. Step out in faith.

fearless

God is sovereign. He controls all situations to such a degree that He brings everything full circle, provides complete healing–and the strength of who you are is now at a much higher level that is worth it all.

“The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, But the righteous are bold as a lion.” Proverbs 28:1 NASB

You are fearless and brave!

  1. Anxiety is such a hard beast to overcome. I struggle with it daily.

    • Susan says:

I’m so glad that Paul said he was anxious for the churches, and it wasn’t sin. And then we are shown that we can cast our anxiety on Christ, and He can give us peace.

  2. Emily says:

Thanks for this reminder that fear isn’t always a sin, but it’s what we fear and how we respond to that fear. Wonderful truth!

    • Susan says:

God created us with a full range of emotion, and all of them can bring glory to God depending on what we do with our emotions. God the Father has deep emotion in the Old Testament prophets, so we are reflecting the image of God when we are not apathetic.

  3. Alice Mills says:

I am on the cusp of some major changes! This is just what I needed today!

  4. Melissa says:

Philippians 4:6-7 is one of my favorite go-to verses. I even have a bracelet with it inscribed as a daily reminder.

  5. Julie says:

I’ve let fear and anxiety run my life for too long. I’m intentionally trusting in Him and His provisions for me. He’s got me securely!

  6. Jess says:

Taking our fears and anxieties to God is, I believe, what a lot of people don’t do. I’m even guilty of this! And these fears are then allowed to snowball into physical illness, etc., keeping us further from His peace.

  7. Jackie says:

Indeed when we go to God in our fear and anxiety; He protects us and encompasses us with His enduring love.

  8. Yes! I am Fearless and Brave! The world will tell me I am not, but God tells me differently! My God has already won my battle; I just need to claim my victory! It felt good to say this out loud!

  9. Kristi says:

I’m so thankful that God can calm our fears and give us peace that we could never have on our own.
